Organiser
The organizer of the competition is Fechtner-Modellbau GmbH & Co. KG, Lerchenstraße 17, 74259 Widdern, Germany (hereinafter also referred to as “Fechtner-Modellbau”).
Participation is free and open to all customers and fans of "Fechtner-Modellbau" and "FineLine Modellbau". A purchase in the shop and an existing customer account are not required for participation. By participating in the competition, the participant accepts these terms and conditions.

Requirements for participation
Anyone aged 18 or over can participate.
The following are not eligible to participate: all persons involved in the conception and implementation of the competition, employees of Fechtner-Modellbau, and their family members. Fechtner-Modellbau also reserves the right to exclude individuals from participation if there are legitimate reasons, such as (a) manipulation related to accessing or conducting the competition, (b) violations of these terms and conditions, (c) unfair practices, or (d) false or misleading information provided in connection with participation.
Only one entry per person is permitted; this will be technically enforced via the specified email address.

Period of the raffle
Submissions are accepted from August 28, 2026 to September 11, 2026. Afterwards, the organizer will select a shortlist of submitted photos (see "Selection and Announcement of Winners"). This shortlist will then be open for voting for 7 days in the contest web app and will also be promoted on Facebook. The organizer will publish the exact voting deadlines after the shortlist has been finalized.

How does participation work?
Participation is via a dedicated competition web app, the link to which will be provided in the Fechtner-Modellbau shop and on their social media channels. To participate, you must provide your first name, last name, and email address; your participation will be verified by a confirmation code sent to the provided email address. Your participation is only considered complete after this confirmation.
At least one photo of a self-built functional model must be submitted, with a minimum resolution of 1920 pixels on the longer edge of the image. Multiple photos of the same model are considered a single submission. If photos of several different models are submitted, the jury will decide which model will be considered for participation. In exceptional cases of technical problems with the upload, submissions can be made informally via email to community@fechtner-modellbau.de; the other participation requirements still apply.
Optionally, participants can provide a list of the Fechtner products used in their project. This is voluntary and can be skipped. If a detailed list is provided, the submission will receive a bonus of 15 additional votes in the jury's preliminary selection. These votes will be added to the final public vote for the photo.
After confirmation of the submission and after each vote cast, participants automatically receive a discount code for the Fechtner-Modellbau online shop; separate terms and conditions apply. Discount conditions this action.
Sharing the contest to generate votes is expressly encouraged – both the link to the entire photo gallery and the direct link to your own submission in the web app. Purchasing votes, using fake accounts or automated systems, and posting links in unrelated groups or forums are not permitted. Violations may result in disqualification.

Selection and announcement of the winners
Profit determination takes place in two stages:
Fechtner-Modellbau first makes an editorial pre-selection of the submissions. The model's craftsmanship and creativity are evaluated, as well as, if applicable, the build list bonus according to the preceding section. No lottery takes place at this stage.
The selected entries will then be made available for voting in the competition web app and additionally promoted via the Facebook fan page. Each confirmed email address entitles the holder to one vote; voting for one's own entry is not permitted. The photo with the most votes takes first place, followed by second and third place based on the number of votes received.
The winners will be informed of their prize via email as soon as possible and will also be announced by name via a Facebook post on the fan page “Fechtner-Modellbau”.
If a winner does not respond within 3 weeks after being contacted twice, the prize may be transferred to the next highest-placed participant.

What services does the profit include?

3rd place: a gift voucher from the company Fechtner-Modellbau worth €50

Profit transfer
The prize will be awarded exclusively to the winner. Exchanges, self-collection, and cash payments are not possible. Shipping will be via DHL within 5 business days after the winner has contacted us and provided their preferred shipping address. Fechtner-Modellbau will cover the shipping costs; any additional costs associated with claiming the prize, as well as any applicable taxes, are the responsibility of the winner.

Rights of use for the submitted photos
By submitting their entry, participants grant Fechtner-Modellbau the simple, non-exclusive right to use the submitted image material for the purposes of this competition. This includes, in particular, display during the jury's preliminary selection, publication during the public voting (web app and/or Facebook), and the announcement of the winners. This basic right of use is required for participation and is valid until the conclusion of the competition, plus a further six-month period for proof of use.
Furthermore, participants may voluntarily and separately consent in the entry form to Fechtner-Modellbau using the submitted images without spatial or temporal restrictions for further marketing purposes, in particular for the website, social media channels, print materials and catalogs, as well as a possible wall calendar for 2027. This extended consent is voluntary, not a requirement for participation, and has no influence on the chances of participation or winning. It can be revoked at any time with effect for the future. Participants retain the right to continue using the submitted photos themselves in any case.
The participant's name (first and last name and/or social media handle) will only be mentioned in future use of the image material if the participant has separately and voluntarily agreed to this in the participation form; it is not a condition of participation.
The participant warrants that they are the author of the submitted photos and possess all necessary rights. If other recognizable persons are depicted in a photo, the participant warrants that these persons have consented to the submission and use in accordance with this clause and indemnifies Fechtner-Modellbau against any third-party claims arising from an inaccurate warranty.

By participating, and in the event of winning, each participant agrees that their personal data necessary for the competition (including legal age, first and last name, email address, and, for winners, telephone number and shipping address) may be stored electronically and used by Fechtner-Modellbau for competition purposes in compliance with applicable data protection regulations. The participant warrants that all information provided is truthful. The winner agrees to the publication of their name or profile name on the "Fechtner-Modellbau" Facebook fan page.

Privacy Policy
The data provided during registration will be processed: first name, last name, email address, submitted photos, and optionally, the building list and a social media handle. For winners, telephone number and shipping address will also be collected. The purpose of this processing is to conduct the prize draw and to contact the winners. The legal basis for this, including the basic right of use of the image material necessary for its execution, is the fulfillment of the prize draw contract concluded upon participation, pursuant to Article 6(1)(b) GDPR. For the extended use of the image material for marketing purposes, as well as any mention of names, the legal basis is the separately and voluntarily given consent pursuant to Article 6(1)(a) GDPR; this consent is independent of participation.
Uploaded photos are cleaned of metadata, especially GPS location data, on the server before being stored.
The personal data collected for the purpose of conducting the prize draw (first name, last name, email address, and, for winners, telephone number and address) will be deleted 6 months after the prize draw has ended. Photos for which no extended consent for marketing use has been given will be deleted within the same period. Photos for which extended consent has been given will be permanently archived independently of this; this consent can be revoked at any time with effect for the future, although, for technical reasons, it is not always possible to completely remove previously published photos retroactively.
Participants have the right to information, rectification, erasure, and objection, as well as the right to withdraw any consent given at any time with effect for the future. The data controller and contact for data protection inquiries is Fechtner-Modellbau, reachable via the contact details in the [document/section/etc.]. Privacy Policy.
Facebook and Instagram have their own guidelines and privacy policies, to which both the user and Fechtner-Modellbau are subject. These services may acquire their own rights to uploaded photos, and data may be stored outside of Germany and the EU. For details, please refer to the privacy policies of the respective service providers. By submitting or uploading a post, the participant agrees to the respective terms of use and privacy policies of these service providers.

Further instructions
Fechtner-Modellbau reserves the right to cancel the competition at any time or to change its rules for the future. This applies in particular in cases of force majeure and if the competition cannot be carried out or continued for organizational, technical, or legal reasons. This also includes technical malfunctions of the participation web app, such as failed uploads or temporary unavailability.
Fechtner-Modellbau disclaims all liability for false statements made in connection with this competition, unless Fechtner-Modellbau or its agents act intentionally or with gross negligence. German law applies exclusively. The jury's decision regarding the preliminary selection of entries is final; recourse to legal action concerning this decision and the determination of the public vote is excluded. This does not affect the statutory rights of participants, particularly those arising from data protection law.
Each participant fully releases Meta Platforms Ireland Limited (Facebook, Instagram) from any liability in connection with this giveaway. This giveaway is in no way affiliated with, sponsored by, endorsed by, administered by, or associated with Facebook and Instagram.

Severability
Should any provision of these terms and conditions be or become wholly or partially invalid, this shall not affect the validity of the remaining provisions. The invalid provision shall be replaced by a legally permissible provision that most closely approximates the economic purpose of the invalid provision. The same applies to any gaps in these terms and conditions.
