For the first time, these THOR controllers are equipped with a brake to prevent a vehicle from rolling uncontrollably downhill on a slope. Another special feature is the high clocking at 18 kHz. This allows for more sensitive control, and the whistling noise in the motor is no longer audible. A self-learning LiPo undervoltage detection system reduces the motor speed at 9 volts or 6 volts. The integrated BEC supply can power the receiver and a small servo. This BEC voltage is short-circuit and temperature-protected. But be careful: This means that if the battery overheats, this voltage will shut down, leaving the receiver temporarily without power! Therefore, conduct extensive tests or use an external BEC, such as an X-BEC. When switched on, the THOR15HF detects whether a 2-cell or 3-cell LiPo battery is connected. Accordingly, the cut-off limit is set to either 6 volts or 9 volts. If the battery voltage drops below this limit, only 1/4 of the target speed is transmitted to the motor, resulting in a significant reduction in speed that everyone will notice, allowing them to drive "home" with this reduced speed. Of course, the controller can also be operated with NiMH or lead-acid batteries. Control range: the zero point is fixed at 1,5 ms pulse width, which corresponds exactly to that of today's standard RC systems. Before and after this point, i.e., stick forward/backward, the motor rotates continuously forward/backward, each up to the maximum speed. It offers manual transmission support for up to four gears, a clutch function, handbrake, optional inertia simulation and a cruise control function, which does not work like the competition (stick deflection controls acceleration), but like the original: the throttle deflection controls the speed and the cruise control is activated by pressing a button. Pressing the button again or braking deactivates the cruise control.Extraordinary soundKraftwerK is once again setting standards in programmability. While the competition can only use a few sound snippets for the driving sound, KraftwerK can use as many as you like and it works as follows: First, the speed range is defined, e.g. 500 rpm immediately after starting and 2300 rpm when the engine is running out.
