The THOR2/xxx is a current measuring controller. It measures the current while the motor is running using a 0,1 ohm measuring resistor. If the current is higher than the maximum current set in the software, the software switches the motor off. The motor can then no longer be started in this direction of rotation until a breakaway algorithm in the opposite direction of rotation has been run through. This algorithm is triggered by normally starting the motor in the other direction of rotation and usually runs unnoticed by the operator. The current limit for this shutdown and reversal algorithm corresponds to a number internal to the software. This number must be selected depending on the motor used and the operating voltage.
