Sound throttle from Beier with Kraftwerk light boards - the perfect symbiosis?

Good thing wants to have time

As early as mid-2018, we campaigned for the manufacturers Beier-Electronic and Kraftwerk to work together. The result has been impressive since mid-2019 and was perfected in the third quarter of 2020.

Cooperation points

The Beier SFR-1 can evaluate the signals from the light and sound control pad. In addition to conventional control via switches, buttons or proportional channels, this offers a completely new option.

The cooperation offers enormous advantages. The tangle of cables disappears. On the one hand, the following functions all result in a cable:

  • common positive pole
  • dimmed headlights
  • Highbeam
  • Blinker
  • Cornering
  • Sidelights
  • Fog Lights

A total of three thin BUS lines.

The other huge advantage is that solder pads are provided on the boards, via which further functions can be connected directly to the board. This saves an enormous cable run to the distributor board.

The additional soldering pads are provided on both the front and the rear panels, for example to operate a rotating beacon at the rear of the trailer or to illuminate the license plate.

NEWS

The system had a weakness for a long time, which is why we could not recommend it unreservedly. The outputs could not be freely configured. This was particularly difficult with the previously mentioned solder pads. The configuration still had to be done via the central unit of Kraftwerk, which should actually be obsolete with the SFR-1. In October 2020 the long-awaited solution came - the Multibus Interface. With this small component, the boards could be configured as desired.
